Originally from Michigan, Linda retired from Pepsi Cola in the late 1990s after a 23-year career and travelled to the Four Corners area for a visit. She fell in love with the mountain west and returned to Michigan only to sell her home. She has lived in the Four Corners area ever since.
Linda learned about Meditech laser systems purely by accident. While spending some time in Tucson, Arizona, she heard a radio announcement seeking patients for a FDA study on a new method of pain reduction and healing using low intensity laser therapy (LILT). It caught her attention because a close family member, who was traveling with Linda, was fighting a severe vertebral disk infection resulting from a procedure performed on his back. He had spent weeks in a hospital, then a month in a nursing home trying to recover. Still, he could barely get around on a walker and needed help getting dressed, taking a shower, and taking care of other ordinary daily tasks. Doctors said there was nothing more they could do for him. When Linda heard the radio announcement for the new treatment, she felt like they had nothing to lose, and gave the clinic a call.
After eleven treatments, Linda's relative was still weak and shaky, but he was off the walker and using a cane. He was on his way to taking care of himself and enjoying a more normal life again. It seemed like a miracle! And it changed the course of Linda's life as well. She decided to open a laser therapy clinic to help people suffering with pain. About a year later, Linda returned to Tucson to study and train with the doctor that had treated her loved one.
After her initial training, Linda searched for a place in which to open her new LILT clinic. She found her way to Grand Junction and immediately fell in love with the Grand Valley. It reminded her of Michigan, where she was raised. The people were friendly and helpful, and many seemed to have the Christian values she admired. After spending a couple of summers here, Linda bought a home and ordered her first BioFlex© low intensity laser machine from Meditech.
Linda took advanced training at Meditech's headquarters in Toronto, Canada and obtained her certification as a therapist. In the Spring of 2006 she found a building for her clinic and launched Laser Solutions. After nine years of retirement, Linda is now pursuing her dream, and her new career, of helping people find relief from pain and suffering without drugs or surgery.
